This will be the fifth we have done this walk, this is the one to do if you are a beginner, no one gets left behind we only go as fast as the slowest person!

This is a reasonably straightforward in and out track to a beautiful three tiered waterfall, which can be swum in if you are brave enough (or silly enough).

It takes about two and a half hours each way and is about 16km in total and it travels through lovely beech forest. The track does go up and down a bit, it is on the side of Mt. Oxford after all.

We will be Meeting at 9:30 am at the West Hotel, Oxford. It’s the last building on your left on Main Street as you are heading west out of town.

Bring plenty of water, snacks, and layers of clothing as it can be cool under the canopy. Insect repellant is also a MUST for this walk!

TRANSPORTATION

What we normally do as we meet at James and Danny Place have a coffee and a bit of a natter then we organise the cars, both James and I can take about 10 people between us! It is a good idea to text Danny telling him you will need transport ()

COST

If you could just give your driver $10 dollars (per person) this is for the return ride and helps keep it affordable for all.

So you can start coming from 8:00am as that is when the coffee machine is on! We get away sharply by 8:30am so we can meet the others at the Oxford pub at 9:30am.

Otherwise we will meet at 9:30 am at the West Oxford Hotel. It’s the last building on your left on Main Street as you are heading west out of town.

Message us or text Danny on if you would like further details 🙂

PLEASE NOTE

Essential items to carry

• Water
• Food
• Warm clothing (even on hot days)

Anyone who does not come with the essential items listed above may be excluded from joining us that day.  Thank you for understanding that this is for the safety of all participants.

Highly Recommended items to carry

• Wet weather gear
• Strong and suitable footwear.  Trainers may be suitable on some walks but are often not suitable on mountain walks.

Although we encourage anyone to join in and beginners are certainly welcome, please be aware of the fitness level some walks require. If the word ‘Mt’ is in the title its up a mountain and may not be a good starting walk for beginners or people with lower fitness levels.  If in doubt start with one of our easier walks and work your way up.
