Yay, Another Mountain to conquer, Another great walk!! Mt Grey is around 5-6 hours long with a reasonable level of fitness required. Well worth the hike with Beech Forests and fantastic views along the coast once we have reached the summit.

Situated 15 km west of Amberley this is the most Northern walk we have done. Leaving from James and Danny’s house in Woolston, Christchurch we can take up to 5 extras and can do pick ups along the way if necessary. As you can see by the photos we had a lot of fun on this walk last year so are really looking forward to doing it again. Hope to see you there 🙂

Bring plenty of water, snacks, and layers of clothing as it can be cool under the canopy. Insect repellant is also a MUST for this walk!

TRANSPORTATION

What we normally do as we meet at James and Danny Place have a coffee and a bit of a natter then we organise the cars, both James and I can take about 10 people between us! It is a good idea to text Danny telling him you will need transport ()

COST

If you could just give your driver $10 dollars (per person) this is for the return ride and helps keep it affordable for all.

So you can start coming from 8:00 am as that is when the coffee machine is on! We get away sharply by 8:30 am so we can meet the others in the country.

Message us or text Danny on if you would like further details.

Look forward to seeing you there.

PLEASE NOTE

Essential items to carry

• Water
• Food
• Warm clothing (even on hot days)

Anyone who does not come with the essential items listed above may be excluded from joining us that day.  Thank you for understanding that this is for the safety of all participants.

Highly Recommended items to carry

• Wet weather gear
• Strong and suitable footwear.  Trainers may be suitable on some walks but are often not suitable on mountain walks.

Although we encourage anyone to join in and beginners are certainly welcome, please be aware of the fitness level some walks require. If the word ‘Mt’ is in the title its up a mountain and may not be a good starting walk for beginners or people with lower fitness levels.  If in doubt start with one of our easier walks and work your way up.
