Hank started his working life as an officer in the NZ Police. After a short stint in the uniform branch, he went into the criminal investigation branch and qualified as a detective, working in a number of different specialist areas for 15 years. After leaving the Police, Hank specialised in security consulting to a number of overseas organisations in risk assessment. As a result of this experience, it seemed a natural consequence when moving into the financial services industry, that Hank would specialise in the area of risk advice, asset protection and estate planning.

Hank started his career in financial services in 2003, as an advisor in Auckland. Within a year he moved back to Christchurch and there opened a branch for the brokerage firm he was advising for. His responsibilities included recruiting new advisors, training, mentoring and coaching. Prior to going overseas, Hank was responsible for the advice process of 22 advisors in the South Island.

In returning back to Christchurch from overseas, Hank was engaged as a consultant to a network advisor group, again recruiting, training, mentoring and coaching unaligned advisors. He was ultimately responsible for over 150 advisors in the South Island and bottom of the North Island.

At the beginning of 2013 Hank made a firm decision to return to an advising role, having a passion for the risk advice process and ensuring that clients are given correct, sound and appropriate risk advice. Although his advice includes a variety of insurance products as a means of funding, his process and his passion is very much advice driven, as opposed to product driven.
